Mike has been working with me in creating the Macromedia Director books that we have been getting out there. For the first four books he has been the:
Principal editor - I give the preliminary version to him and he makes it readable.
Images guy - Almost all of the illustrations in the books are screen shots that illustrate what is currently being described. Mike was always responsible for getting the proper setup, taking the shot, and keeping track of where everything went.
Quality control guy - Mike tested everything I (we) wrote and made sure that anyone could get through the book without hitting a snag due to a bug. We've gone through about 5,000 pages of the books, so far, and there have been very few complaints or errors. Those that have been found were due to Macromedia, not our lack of attention.
By the way, a few years back we created an educational software package, for Kaigai and Sony, called "Understanding Spoken Japanese". There must of been about 60 hours of computer based training, computer and Laser Disc, in that course. All the text was in Japanese (except the directions). I programmed it to interface with a database we created. Mike's job was to see that there were no errors. That meant debugging stuff you can't even properly read. But Mike did it and there was never a single bug reported for that software. Let me know of any other major piece of software that can make the same claim (Bill Gates, we're talking to you).
